(And their new "Clear" liquid clay is quite new. So many people don't even know there are more brands of liquid polymer clay than Sculpey's. craft stores like Michaels (Michaels doesn't carry Kato Polyclay products at all, and only carries Fimo's solid clays), and the Fimo brand of liquid clay is getting harder to find in general. The reason you probably hear about TLS more than the other brands of liquid clay is because Sculpey products are made in the U.S. (although all liquid clays can have inclusions of all kinds mixed into them to make clings, faux cloisonne, or just for any purpose, etc) You can see more about all of those in these two of Cindy's videos, if interested: (There are also thickened versions of liquid clay: Sculpey's Bake & Bond and Kato Polypaste.)īefore Sculpey's "Clear" line came along, the original Sculpey translucent liquid clay (TLS) line was always known to be less clear than the other two brands' liquid clays, given the same thickness, etc. Some of those brands also sell colored liquid polymer clays (mica-containing ones, and/or regular colors including white and black). There's a difference in their surfaces though with the Sculpey products being somewhat matte unless sanded/buffed or baked against a really-smooth surface, with Fimo and Kato being the glossiest. Sculpey now puts out a clearer-curing translucent liquid clay called Liquid Sculpey-"Clear" which will be clearer than their TLS, but none of the translucent liquid clays will actually be transparent unless they're very thin and heated high enough (higher heating will make any liquid clay more transparent than it would have been). TLS/Translucent Liquid Sculpey (Polyform/Sculpey now makes 2 lines of translucent liquid clay tho). Sculpey PREMOACCENTS - 57g - White Translucent Polymer Clay. Polyform PFM13037 SCULPEY TOOLS- BAKE & BOND Polymer Clay Accessory. Those are just two different brands of liquid polymer clay, and there's a third brand sold in the U.S. This item: Sculpey 213826 Premo Accents Clay, 227g/8Oz., Translucent.
